KEYKO
GOKO Premium Japanese Ceremonial Grade Matcha
Couldn't load pickup availability
GOKO is a single origin cultivar Gokou tea renowned for its full-bodied, umami (literally meaning « pleasant taste ») flavor. It has a milky, cream powder aroma which makes it equally great for a straight-up matcha and latte creation. This ceremonial grade matcha is produced using a stone mill that finely grinds hand-picked Tencha leaves at only 40g per hour. This is less than the amount of tea in this pouch alone - grinding in such small batches ensures the freshness of each pack.
- HEALTH BENEFITS: Vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, sugar-free.

- TASTING NOTES: Osada-san produces this matcha to be of ceremonial grade (OTEMAE use) that any age group can drink and enjoy- in other words it is lightly roasted to ensure high drinkability and no rawness to it. It is designed to be a smooth drink with little to no astringency, having a mild creamy nutty flavor (although this is subject to personal perceptions).
- STONE MILLED: This ceremonial grade matcha is produced using a stone mill that finely grinds hand-picked Tencha leaves at only 40g per hour. This is less than the amount of tea in this pouch alone – grinding in such small batches ensures the freshness of each pack. Stone milling makes the particles superfine and prone to clumping. To prevent clumping use a tea strainer to sift your matcha for optimal froth, smoothness, and drinkability.
- PRODUCTION AREA: GOKO grows in a picturesque region of Isagawa, Haruno. Haruno village is known as the organic valley in western Shizuoka, a part of the Tenryū district extending to Hamamatsu city. Our tea bushes cultivate in crisp, fresh mountain air 500 metres above sea level and absorb crystal clear spring water.
- PRODUCER: GOKO is sourced from a sustainable family farm in western Shizuoka. 4th generation tea master, Osada Natsumi, holds 8th-dan rank of tea appraisal, is registered as a Japanese Tea Instructor, and was Champion of the 58th National Tea Appraisal competition (called Touchakai) in Japan.
