About Us
Producer
Our tea is sourced from a sustainable family farm in western Shizuoka. 4th generation tea master, Osada Natsumi, holds 8th-dan rank of tea appraisal, is registered as a Japanese Tea instructor, and was Champion of the 58th National Tea Appraisal competition (called Touchakai) in Japan.
Ceremonial grade
Osada-san produces this matcha to be of ceremonial grade (OTEMAE use) that any age group can drink and enjoy- in other words it is lightly roasted to ensure high drinkability and no rawness to it. It is designed to be a smooth drink with little to no astringency, having a mild creamy nutty flavor (although this is subject to personal perceptions).
Production area
Our signature GOKO tea grows in a picturesque region of Isagawa, Haruno. Haruno village is known as the organic valley in western Shizuoka, a part of the Tenryū district extending to Hamamatsu city.
Our tea bushes cultivate in crisp, fresh mountain air 500 metres above sea level and absorb crystal clear spring water.
